How to not disturb birds in Back 4 Blood

They can be the downfall of a team.

For new players in Back 4 Blood, there is probably a no bigger threat to the team than the presence of birds. Seeing a newcomer disturb them and continuously bring in hordes of Ridden down on you is not something you want to deal with. If you feel you are letting your team down by constantly setting them off, here is how to get past birds in Back 4 Blood without disturbing them.

Birds are a hazard that you will come across plenty of times in the Back 4 Blood campaign. Luckily, there are multiple ways to get past them without dealing with a horde. First, as you might guess, you can sneak past them. If you run anywhere near them or shoot in their direction, you will spook them. Instead, watch your aim and crouch walk to get by them.

Additionally, you can also get rid of birds more directly. If you have an explosive item like a Frag Grenade or a Propane Tank, explode it on the circle of birds, and they will be killed before they alert the horde. You can also shoot all of the birds to kill them; this is more tricky than with the explosives, but it is possible.

Finally, with the addition of the Stealthy Passage card in expansion one, Tunnels of Terror, you can now sneak up on birds and disarm them.

This card will disable the Quick Slot item for anyone who has it equipped, but if you crouch walk and interact with a circle of birds, you will instantly kill them without making a peep.
