Space Oddity gig – how to open the briefcase – Cyberpunk 2077

Take your protein pill...

Space Oddity is a fun little mission in Cyberpunk 2077. You will need to have completed the Playing For Time mission at the start of the game to get access to it. It is also worth pointing out that as the mission is in Rancho Coronado in Santo Domingo, you will want to be a pretty high level to be able to do it.

Go to the area marked on the map below to find the job. Here, you will find three homeless guys arguing over a locked briefcase. You will need to talk to them and have a couple of options to get the case from them.

If your Body score is over 11 you can intimidate them, or you can bribe them. If you really want to you can also just murder them all, but expect the cops to arrive shortly afterward. When you have the briefcase, you will need to open it. Anyone with an Intellect of 9 or over can hack it, but if you don’t have that particular stat you can check the dumpster around the side of the building.

Here you will find the corpse of the guy who owned the briefcase, and he will have a Shard that gives you access to it. Once you have the case open you will see it houses a computer. Interact with it and check the files to find some landing coordinates that are about two kilometers away.

This is where it will get a little hairy, and where level will matter. The landing zone will be guarded by some military types that you will need to take out. This is pretty much just a straight-up fight in the desert, so do whatever suits you build to get through it. There are not many of them, but they are strong and have some solid firepower on their side.

When the fight is over, interact with the drop pod that fell when you first got her and grab yourself the painting from inside. Johnny will appear for a quick chat about art, love, and getting out of dodge before anyone shows up to see what is happening.

Johnny does say that buyers will be lining up for it, so this could lead to a further quest later in the game. We will update this article if anything comes of it.
