When will Cyberpunk 2077’s free DLC be released?

Look forward to more content.

The arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 feels like the end of a dream many fans have been having for years. There were a few issues about the exact date of the game’s release date, but with the title made available to players, it’s time to reap the rewards of diving into Night City. There’s plenty to do, and developer CD Projekt is a team who keep up with their game, even after it’s been released. If you played the Witcher 3, you likely remember how the team continued to release new armor and abilities several months later. The same will be happening for Cyberpunk 2077, and the free DLC will start arriving around early 2021.

The reveal and announcement arrived in the official Cyberpunk 2077 launch trailer. It’s extremely brief and happens near the end, so if you want the exact moment you see it, you can skip down to the 2:00, but you have to be fast, and the frames go by extremely quickly. We had trouble trying to catch it even with playback speed 0.25.

The message reads, “We’ve mentioned before that expansions will be coming, and while we’re not ready to talk specifics just yet, we will say that we’ve learned a lot from our work on both Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine. Our planned expansions will take you even deeper into the world of Cyberpunk 2077, offering substantial, story-driven content that’ll give you tough choices to make through impactful narratives that you won’t soon forget.

“But before we get there, we’ll first be kicking off our free DLC program in early 2021. Just like with The Witcher 3, expect an assortment of free DLC packs to begin hitting Night City, dropping a bunch of cool stuff that’ll inject even more life into the world of the dark future.”

While Cyberpunk 2077 officially launches on December 10 at midnight on GMT for the entire world, there will be more Night City to check out. CD Projekt will take their time with the release. Given the current reviews, they’ll probably spend most of their time attempting to address various visual and gameplay bugs that players encounter. Bug patches and hotfixes will be the big topics for the first few weeks, so don’t get your hopes up for some DLC coming to the game in January or February 2021.
